Student-athlete recognizes mental health as essential to physical well-being
When Emily Light moved from Fargo to attend Minot State University, she faced a lot of change at once. College classes, athletics and being away from her close family brought on anxiety she had not felt before. With help from counselor Troy Roness, Emily learned what was causing her anxiety and how to manage it. She built tools to handle stress and used her personal values to make choices with more confidence.
Today, Emily feels stronger in school and sports. With support from VitellaCare’s mental and physical health services, she is moving toward her goal of becoming a doctor who gives others the same kind of caring support she received.
